I grew up in Los Angeles, CA and was fortunate to be born into a fantastic family with terrific parents. I am the sixth child in a family of eight, and when I came along there was no more room at the “family inn”, so my parents had to find a new place to live. I guess my parents learned early on that I had a talent for disruption. Today I try to channel that talent into more productive endeavors.
If “disruption” is in any way a virtue, I view my job as disrupting the typical Wall Street practice of conventional thinking, thinking that does little to help investors. In the aggregate, my industry has a poor track record when it comes to investment performance. It doesn’t have to be this way. I hope this site serves as a beacon for educating investors and providing an alternative way of thinking about investing, one that raises the bar just a little.
When I’m not thinking about investing I’m spending my free time working at the gym, hanging at the beach, satisfying my craving for In-N-Out Burgers (don’t tell my trainer), cheering on my favorite football team (Go Irish!) or travelling to some new destination. Most importantly, I have three wonderful children who make me proud every day and are the light of my life.
